Technalign Inc. is a Linux and Linux software producer and distributor. According to the company's latest press release, the final Pioneer Explorer 1.0 community edition and the Programs Folder have been released. The Programs Folder software was introduced at the community members' request and it comes in handy when you want to set up more sophisticated and difficult to install applications; it is embedded in the Pioneer Explorer release and it includes virtualization tools such as VM or Innotek and also some other software and codecs.

The Programs Folder is expected to be expanded and to take in more of the applications requested by users. The Technaligh executives are very proud with this new release, claiming that Pioneer Explorer plays a vital role in the development of other products of theirs. Dianne Ursini, Technalign CEO, says:

"The new Pioneer Explorer release provides community users with an excellent system that works with most systems out of the box. Pioneer Explorer is the base for all Pioneer products including the Basic and Renegade systems ..."

As usual, the Pioneer developers expect feedback from the users regarding possible hidden bugs or malfunctions in this release. Those interested in helping the development of Pioneer Explorer 1.0 can signal the bugs on Technalign's Pioneer forum but they can also use the company's bug tracking system. Also, a general project tracking tool, which should work for all community projects (including the new Pioneer installer), is expected to go online in the next 3 weeks. There is also said that Pioneer Explorer would offer a weekly build, for those who download the new release according to the version number.

Highlights:

- additional hardware support including unprecedented wireless and WinModem support out of the box - added KDE 4.0 beta in the repositories for those interested in testing it - rebuilt xorg file - rebuilt Firefox - new additions to the Programs folder including the codecs and virtualization tools;
