A project for a pink-striped special license for illegal immigrants has been dumped as authorities favor a document bearing the regular blue stripe.

The document was meant to be issued for participants in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The project mentioned illegal immigrants having "Limited Term" and "No Lawful Status" stamped on their driving document.

Racial profiling and discrimination claims have been prompted by news of the issue of the special license, which would allegedly isolate those entering DACA.

The current proposal for a blue license, posted above, features the term "Legal Presence" before "No Lawful Status."

"Individuals who present documentation demonstrating a grant of deferred action by the United States government are legally present in the United States and entitled to a driver's license of limited duration, assuming all other criteria are met," an Attorney General's Office spokesperson has said in January, according to WRAL.
