Luckily, nothing bad happened to any of the 12-year-olds in this picture

Social media is teeming with pictures of people enjoying a more-or-less quiet day at the beach, but something tells me none of these photos is quite as shocking as the one above.

The picture was taken in the waters off Manhattan Beach in California, US. According to Daily Mail, it was shot by a mom who was merely trying to snap a picture of her son and one of his friends.

Apparently, the woman did not even realize that a shark was swimming dangerously close to the 12-year-olds at the time when she took the picture.

Thus, it was later when she realized that her son and his friend had been photobombed by what appears to be a juvenile great white shark, the same source tells us.

“It was quite a shock to see,” the mother reportedly told the press. “Many local surfers and lifeguards have seen this and believe it to be a shark. Of course, I told my kids it was a dolphin, as we live at the beach and are in the waters here almost daily,” she added.

Luckily, the animal had no interest in attacking the boys, and the latter got out of the water unharmed.
