42-year-old Graham McGeorge is the photographer whom we must thank for our being able to have a better look at this Eastern Screech Owl as it tries to blend in with its surroundings.

The picture was shot in Okefenokee Swamp, Georgia, not very long ago, and few can argue against the fact that is makes a very compelling case of how, when wishing to make sure nobody notices them, Eastern Screech Owls are perfectly capable of hiding in plain sight.

“They are masters of disguise so you need to have a sharp eye in order to see them. I found this one that was living in a hole in the tree that woodpeckers usually make,” Graham McGeorge explained. Daily Mail says that these birds are usually solitary creatures, and that they live in tree cavities such as the one shown in this picture.

These owls only go out hunting during nighttime. During daytime, they very much prefer to nap in their cavity nests.
