Pretty much everybody agrees that mountain lions (a.k.a. cougars) are fierce wild animals which would not shy away from a run-in with a coyote.

However, the mountain lions featured in the picture above are mere cubs, which is why nobody can either blame or shame them from climbing up a fence in a desperate attempt to avoid an altercation with five full-grown coyotes. Sources say that the picture was taken this past March 28 in Wyoming's National Elf Refuge by Lori Iverson.

As Lori later explained, the mountain lion cubs spent an entire hour sitting on the fence before managing to make a run for it and escape the coyotes.

A couple of days later, the mountain lions were spotted walking about this wildlife sanctuary, and neither of them displayed any injuries.
