Coola, the grizzly bear pictured above, is a huge fan of basketball. In fact, he likes this sport so much that he is thinking about going to try-outs, and joining a team.

To make sure that he stays in shape and that his basketball-playing skills are at their best be it day or night, Coola practices every day in the pool inside his enclosure at the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, in North Vancouver, Canada.

It was during one of these intense training sessions that photographer Devin Manky managed to snap some pictures proving how good a basketball player Coola is.

According to Daily Mail, Coola weighs about 1,000 lbs (435.5 kilograms). Despite its impressive size, the bear is quite friendly, and surprisingly playful.

As explained by photographer Devin Manky, who is also in charge of managing wildlife at the refuge, “Coola now weighs over a thousand pounds but is still a very curious and playful bear.”

Furthermore, “He loves stashing little 'toys', such as sticks, stones, and chunks of grass at the bottom of his pond and will occasionally pull them out and start throwing them around for fun.”
