14 DAY TRIAL // It would appear that, despite the fact that they are fairly small, chipmunks have a huge appetite, and the little fellow pictured above stands as proof.
The tiny creature was caught on camera by photographer Gordon Keith Parrott, while it was busy stuffing its face with peanuts. According to Daily Mail, the picture was taken in Toronto, Canada.
The photographer recollects that the first time he laid eyes on the chipmunk, the latter was busy licking a peanut, which it then shoved in its mouth.
Just seconds later, it did the same with another snack, and, after this, it grabbed a third peanut in its teeth and made a run for it.
“This little chipmunk picked up the first peanut and proceeded to lick it until it was coated with his saliva and then easily slid it into his cheek,” 58-year-old Gordon Keith Parrott says.
“Then a second was licked and confidently slid into his other cheek, leaving his mouth wide open and appearing quite full,” he recalls.
“He then skilfully placed the third peanut in his teeth and quickly scurried off with all three peanuts to store in his nest for winter,” he further explains.
It goes without saying that this chipmunk must surely go to the local gym at least four times a week.
If this isn't the case, then I dare you to find a reasonable explanation for how and why it can eat so much and still have a gorgeous silhouette to show off.
