The robot features minimal design and an affordable price tag

There is no doubt this is the robots era. And to prove this, some brainy fellows have come up with Pico Botz, which is more like a replica of the Megabyte fighting bot, rather than Robosapien's cheap copycat.

PicoBotz is a programmable built for your robot, meaning it waits for the PC's instructions to function. And since the manufacturers claim this steel enraged-looking bot can be fed up to 180 different instructions, this is no toy. The programs it uses are written on a PC running Windows and downloaded into the robot, via an RS232 port.

I don't know about you, but when I look at it, I see Dark Vader's head being ripped off and stuffed with wires, but that's just my humble impression about Pico's appearance. What I am really concerned about is the fact that this little machine can actually perform it own current program, if not connected to the PC. I didn't get that part very well.

Besides that, and the cold steel face it makes, there are also three different modes: obstacle avoidance, sound controls and the ability to follow the lines. It is cased in a solid metal case and be careful: it can understand some really difficult commands like: "Stop!" and, working in the three basic modes I've just mentioned.

What I would really like to do with this thing is cut it open, put some chips and wires and place it in a fight cage with Megabyte. And see it in some real action. But, hey, my evil thoughts should not influence your free will when deciding to buy yourself such a bot. As long as you get a software and a reasonable price tag of about 77 bucks, you can take it home with you. You could perhaps program it to chase some cats or keep your baby away from the pool. Or else.
