Somewhat fun

Music is a fun thing, that's for sure, but playing can sometimes be even more fun than the music itself; and just to prove such an assertion, take your time and remember just how many times you have seen people beating some rhythms with their fingers against various objects, from briefcases to chairs, tables and so on... or people imitating the action of a piano player. Everyone likes music and even if not everybody can actually play an instrument or sing, most of them would love to.

The Piano Hands are a piece of musical gadgetry that addresses this specific problem, even if it does so with a toy-ish approach. These musical gloves can mean hours and hours of fun, even though it's hard to picture someone playing the Piano Hands on the bus.

We're dealing with a pair of special gloves with built-in sensors in their fingertips, which act like triggers for different musical notes emulating various instruments such as a piano, an organ, a violin, a trumpet, a mandolin music box, a guitar and, of course, drums. All you have to do is bang your fingers against some surface and sound will emerge from the built-in speakers. Note that we said "sound": there is absolutely no guarantee that your sonic product will have something musical to it!

Even more, the Piano Hands come with no less than 30 rhythms with adjustable tempo, so you can practice and play with some real sense, 10 demo songs and a couple of training routines to help you get used to playing these gloves. You even get an "octave up" function, easy to use by simply pressing the heel of your hand against said surface. The Piano Hands can be easily charged via the USB port.

Now, this technology-laden gadget will definitely not turn you into a new Vangelis and neither will it render you able to rival Jean-Michel Jarre (he also had gloves, but at least he played a laser organ) but it will offer you a good gift idea for the holidays and a great deal of fun. You can get your hands inside the Piano Hands for around $93 here.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed.
