14 DAY TRIAL // Hong Kong-based photographic gear manufacturer Phottix covers a wide range of products, from flash triggers and remote shutter releases to wired remotes, batteries, and studio accessories.
Today, Phottix has just announced in a post on the company's blog the availability of a new firmware version for its Mitros TTL flash series for both Nikon and Canon digital SLRs.
In the case of the Mitros TTL flash designed for Nikon DSLRs, the new update v3.20 comes with only two improvements. If you increment your firmware version you can take advantage of the new re-optimized overheating protection function that now allows you to fire even more flashes before it engages. Moreover, the new build will also fine-tune the current brightness/output levels of your Mitros TTL flash unit.
On the other hand, the v1.02B5 firmware for Phottix Mitros TTL Flash for Canon DSLRs comes with new features as well as a few fixes and improvements. The new version allows faster flash adjustments when pressing the arrow buttons on the back of the flash.
You can now hold down the buttons to continuously adjust the values without the need of pressing the multiple times. After this update, a single button press will make 1/3 stop increments, but the function is not available when adjusting zoom settings.
The Canon firmware v1.02B5 also optimizes the overheating protection function as the one mentioned above, but also fixes sync issues that could happen when working with a G1 X camera and 600EX flash, and the Mitros is set as a slave unit.
Other improvements worth mentioning are: improved Canon 10D compatibility, overexposure problem when using Canon EOS M and Odin fix, flash power level optimization, and others.
