Microsoft made a recent demonstration of the two

Redmond-based software company Microsoft announced back in February the upcoming release of a new mobile operating system, namely Windows Phone 7, which should arrive on the market sometime in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year on devices from leading handset vendors, and a series of new photos with such a phone from LG have just emerged. The images display a prototype LG Panther handset, which was originally shown in February, currently being used by a senior company executive, it seems.

The handset and the Windows Phone 7 operating system on it reportedly work pretty smooth, at least this is what a recent article on pocket-lint states. The news site got hold of the said photos from a Microsoft demonstration of the device, and reports that things seem to be moving in the right direction for the company's upcoming mobile solution.

“One stand-out aspect dwelled upon in the demo was intuitive and seamless Facebook integration, with the phone automatically pulling contacts' updates when you access them via the address book. They're current status details appear alongside phone number, address, etc. Another cunning feature on show involved the software's recognition of street addresses, and its ability to then offer one-click access to map locations and details (via bing, of course). Every application, including email and text, automatically creates a link for an address,” pocket-lint reports.

The Windows Phone 7 platform should hit the shelves with a Zune media player packed inside, which is said to be working well too. Moreover, users should be able to download media content from the Zune store, and the portal is expected to become available for those living in the UK too when the OS is launched. Among the features included in the Zune player, one can count the capability to find album art straight from the device, in case one has got a track without metadata. Windows Phone 7 will include support for Xbox Live too, though not straight at launch, it seems.

The LG Panther that can be admired in the photos attached to this article reportedly comes with an intuitive touchscreen, while being able to offer an enhanced social networking experience via the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Moreover, it seems that Alex Reeve, Microsoft's UK Mobile Business Group director, also confirmed that this handset was among those Windows Phone 7 devices that would land on the market the ongoing year. More images are available over at pocket-lint.
