The 3.5 mm headphone jack is there

That didn't take long. It was only a few days ago when the first rumors on the existence of a new version of T-Mobile myTouch 3G emerged into the wild, and now the first images with the said device, apparently called myTouch 3G 1.2, surfaced too. As you can easily see in the photos attached to this article, it seems that there are not too many differences between this new flavor and the original device, but one can spot that 3.5 mm headset jack that most enthusiasts were expecting already.

While no noticeable changes are seen on the exterior of the myTouch 3G 1.2, TmoNews says that the upcoming handset flavor might actually come around with a series of internal enhancements, the same as it happened with the just launched myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition. However, the previous reports on the new phone said that it would come with only one enhancement over the original model, namely that 3.5 mm handset jack that got photographed now.

If we're to take a look into some of the latest rumors around the Internet, we might very well assume that additional features will also come to the phone, though they would actually turn it into a quite different device. For example, a Magic successor was recently spotted by the guys over at cellpassion in an HTC's agent profile, one that comes with a QWERTY keyboard and which might easily emerge into the wild via T-Mobile.

However, while the handset in question is there and might arrive on the market at a certain point in the future, there are no exact details available on whether it is the same myTouch 3G 1.2 that can be admired in the two available photos. This QWERTY-enabled Magic might very well prove to be an HTC successor of the Nexus One phone sold via Google, but we'll have to wait to see what it will actually become when (and if) it gets unveiled officially.
