Ricky Gervais and Justin Timberlake met at the Time 100 Most Influential People Gala earlier this week and, while they were fooling around, they inadvertently wrote history by creating another online photo frenzy.

Check out the #floorpic, #floorpics or even #oldfloorpics hashtags on Twitter to find out what these two started.

“@jtimberlake & I, lying on the floor at The Time 100 Most Influential People Gala. I blame the free booze,” Gervais wrote in the caption to the photo you can also see above.

Yes, if you guessed this new viral had something to do with lying on the floor and snapping a funny photo of yourself, you were right.

Its derivate #oldfloorpics implies getting your nana or some other older relative you know to do that, and you take the photo.

Gervais’ Twitter feed provides ample advice on how to get the best “floorpic” possible. Animals also apply, especially if they’re particularly cute.

“@rickygervais most influential eh? And you use this power how? Getting people’s nans prostrate on the floor AND snapping it for Twitter. Ace,” one Twitter follower told him, clearly not feeling this whole “floorpic” frenzy.
