The other day saw the release of a dual cover for this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, dedicated to the Alan Taylor-directed reboot of the “Terminator” franchise, the somehow hilariously titled “Terminator: Genisys.”

The covers also came with a short synopsis that revealed a rather unpleasant and totally unexpected twist, so it didn’t take long for fans and celebrity bloggers to take to Twitter to vent.

In between lamenting that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator will now be raising Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and not try to kill her as in James Cameron’s original film (“The Terminator,” 1984), and laughing about the ridiculous photos, all these people missed a very important – and even more hilarious – thing: Jai Courtney is in serious need of a torso on one of these covers.

So today’s Photo of the Day is the huge Photoshop blunder on the cover of EW because someone “accidentally” wiped a very essential part of Jai Courtney’s body. Without a torso, how will his Kyle Reese ever be able to help out Sarah when she needs him the most? More importantly though, how in heaven’s name did he manage to clamber up on that bike with her?

Of course, it could be that he’s half-see-through, which would answer the latter question. Or maybe he’s wearing some type of suit from the future, which renders his torso invisible but at the same time offers him unprecedented protection. After all, his mission is not an easy one: he has to defend the future mother of the savior of mankind.

In all seriousness now, “Genisys” has had countless PR missteps so far. This is just another example of why such things should never be rushed, especially when you’re dealing with a franchise as old and popular as “Terminator.”
