“It may be hazardous to your hearing and street cred”

Sometimes, the cops have the most amazing sense of humor. Case in point: the Queensland Police, which took out a BOLO for Nickelback, warning the good people of Australia that the rockers are wanted for crimes against music.

You can see it in the photo attached to this post; before you think this is just a meme, let me assure you that it’s the real deal.

It’s a joke, obviously, but it was posted on the official Facebook of the Queensland Police, with the note that “Police are on the lookout for these men who are believed to be impersonating musicians around Boondall this evening. Avoid the area. It may be hazardous to your hearing and street cred.”

The message is tagged with #LookAtThisGraph and #NoFixedAddress, the latter being necessary because Nickelback is kicking off their Australian tour tonight, Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in Brisbane, Queensland.

Most responses to the post have been very positive (after all, what’s not to love here, even if you’re a Nickelback fan?), but one in particular caught my eye.

It suggests that maybe Canada should consider “repaying” the favor to Australian authorities, by taking a BOLO on rapper Iggy Azalea. She too is believed to be guilty of crimes against music.
