Capcom has announced the release date for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, due out this December.

The popular investigation and logic video game series has seen a lot of ports over the years. The original games were launched on the Game Boy Advance, and many video game enthusiasts enjoyed the series' quirky and challenging gameplay.

Players assume the role of a defense attorney and enter legal battles based on the Japanese legal system, with the goal of proving their clients' innocence.

There have been numerous spin-offs to the base series, including other media adaptations, such as stage plays, musicals, manga, and even a feature film.

What's in the box

Now, the first three titles released on the Nintendo DS have been remastered and bundled together, and are coming to western audiences. In addition to the base content, the three titles have received a visual makeover, including a stereoscopic 3D effect, and come with both English and Japanese language options.

Gamers will be able to enjoy the adventures in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations, tied together in a neat digital package.

Play the kind of lawyer people actually like

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy follows a young Phoenix Wright, a budding, rookie lawyer, through the early period of his career, in his never-ending quest to find the truth behind the cases he is presented with.

The games will deliver a thrilling adventure through the courtroom, complete with intense showdowns before the judge. Players will have to investigate crime scenes, collect evidence and question witnesses in order to gain the necessary information to formulate their cases.

Using evidence and testimonies judiciously while in the court room will help you win the battle to prove your clients' innocence, and in order to determine who is the real culprit of the crimes, you'll have to find the contradictions in the witnesses' statements.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS on December 9 in North America and December 11 in Europe. The compilation has been available in Japan since April this year.

Capcom revealed at the end of last year that the entire series had sold over 5 million units, making it one of the company's most popular intellectual properties.
