Philips keeps up the good beat and releases a new series of portable media players, which are said to target other segments of the market, apart from those the company has got us used to so far.

The first addition in the company's portfolio was dubbed SA9345. It is said to pack two storage capacities, of 2GB and 4GB, respectively.

Besides that, when it comes to the player's design, it doesn't look too bad either, as it features a pitch black casing and a couple of patterns which are going to make it irresistible. Apart from that, it's impossible not to enjoy its 1.8 inch color screen, so nicely integrated into the player's body. Nevertheless, like in most cases, its main attraction is surely going to be its luscious touch-sensitive controls, and of course, its size at just a third of an inch thick.

Regarding the player's technical specs, this baby it said to be able to deal with most of the file formats available on the market, such as common ones like MP3 and WMA for the audio files and more. Besides that, there are some extra options which you might find great to use if getting bored of the same music, such as the built-in FM tuner and the WMV video player it incorporates. Sadly, this player also has some issues, like its video playback speed limited at only 20fps.

However, it also manages to convert some other formats including the AVI, MOV, MPEG-1/2/4 and even VOB (DVD) files. As for its battery life, the Philips SA9345 is claimed to play up to 20 hours of audio media content, while the video playback is limited at only two hours.

If this convinced you to buy one of these and you're wondering about its pricing and availability details, you should know that there is also a 4GB player marketed in North America. Unfortunately, there is no word about any price tag, whatsoever.

Still, we have managed to find out that the 2G version of SA9345 retails from 99 pounds in UK, while the 4GB one may even reach 129 pounds, meaning about 264 bucks a pop! Nice job!
