A few days back, we’ve learned that the official website of the world-renowned electronics manufacturer Philips had been breached by a couple of hackers known as Bch195 and HaxOr.

The hackers managed to leak some information from their databases, including IDs, names, email addresses and other data, some of which they planned on selling.

According to V3, a company spokesperson revealed that immediate action had been taken to mitigate the effects of the incident.

The affected server has been shut down and the full extent of the breach is currently being investigated. The analysis should determine exactly what type and how much data the hackers managed to steal.

“We are following our standard security incident investigative procedure when dealing with a potential criminal cyber security act. Because of the potentially criminal nature of activity described in the public claims, Philips is collaborating with law enforcement,” the company’s representative said.
