The phones can last on a single charge for over a month

The phones presented by Philips are the kind of mobile phones that will make you forget what it's like to have to stop a conversation because the phone's battery life is running low.

They will basically work without being recharged, on standby, for more than a month, which is much more than most mobile phones out there have to offer.

Philips' Xenium 9@9a, for example, is just a basic phone, working on GSM 900/1800 networks and equipped with a 1.5 inch 65k color screen, 2 MB of internal memory, support for SMS, EMS, MMS, WAP and polyphonic ringtones.

The candybar's main advantage is its really long battery life. It will last up to 10 hours of talk time and 40 days on standby, which should be enough for even the most pretentious users out there.

The Philips Xenium 9@9d is a little more advanced, which means that the battery life is a little smaller as well, but to everyone's surprise this phone still lasts around a month on standby and 8.5 hours worth of talk time.

It comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, USB 1.1, Bluetooth and IrDA for connectivity, Java 2.0 support and 18MB of internal memory. The last of the three phones, Xenium 9@9t is the most advanced among Philips' new models.

It features a 65k color touchscreen with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, handwriting recognition, an MP3 player and a MiniSD card slot for memory expansion. The only thing that is slightly inconvenient is its lack of Bluetooth and IrDA. The Xenium 9@9t will last for up to 8.5 hours of talk time and 850 hours on standby.

While the features of Philips' three new phones won't impress anyone that much, the battery life will make them very appealing in the eyes of people who really enjoy or need to talk on the phone a lot. There is no information regarding the price or availability at the moment.
