After the original autopsy report proved inconclusive, the New York Coroner has released the results of the toxicology report and now it has been revealed that the cause of death of Philip Seymour Hoffman was a deadly cocktail of drugs that included heroine, cocaine, and amphetamines.

USA Today has obtained the report and claims that police forces have ruled that the actor's death was an accident. This comes to confirm initial police reports that said there was no foul play involved in the death of the Oscar-winning actor.

Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment, with a needle in his arm, in early February. Lying in the bathroom of his home, Hoffman was said to have been clad in only underwear and a T-shirt when his personal assistant and a close friend came to check up on him.

The 46-year-old was known to have been a drug addict in his younger years but had managed to stay clean after he realized the ill effects drugs had on him at 22. He had become an inspiration to many struggling through rehabilitation for his 23-year-long stint sober and took the time to speak to such groups.

But, last year, he admitted that he had relapsed and was seeking help. Hoffman underwent treatment at a rehab facility but found it didn't work, as he went back to doing hard drugs towards the end of the year.

In his apartment, police found close to 50 packets of heroin with an ace of spades stamped on them and were led to believe that the actor's death was connected to a particularly deadly strain of the drug that had claimed the life of several other people along the East Coast.

An investigation into the matter was conducted and, shortly after Seymour's demise, four people were arrested on the suspicion that they had been involved in a drug ring that supplied the actor. Later, some of the men were released due to lack of evidence connecting them with the case.

In his will, the actor, who had won an Oscar for his role in “Capote,” left his entire estate to his estranged girlfriend, costume designer Mimi O'Donnell. The former couple had three children together.

Another stipulation in his will said that his oldest son, who was the only one born at the time the will was drafted, was to be raised in New York City where he would benefit from the artistic and cultural life.

His funeral, which took place in Manhattan on February 7, was attended by a number of celebrities who mourned his passing.
