Twitter recently launched the Android version of Periscope, which was an iOS affair for a few months. Now Twitter will have to split support between the Android and iOS versions of Periscope, so we can expect more updates for the application.

The latest update for Periscope has been pushed onto Google Play Store in late May, while the iOS version received a new update in the first week of June.

The newest version of Periscope for iOS comes with a few new features and some improvements that should enhance user experience.

First of all, Twitter announced that Periscope for iOS is now localized in 29 languages. That's quite an achievement for a relatively new application. Here is the full list of languages supported in Periscope for iOS:

English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Korean, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Dutch, Indonesian, Simplified Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, Thai, Arabic, Czech, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Traditional Chinese, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Furthermore, developers announced they have added a new “Map” section, which will allow users to explore live broadcasts from around the world on a zoomable map.

The new feature is available by tapping “Map” from the “Global” section to access a live view of top location-enabled broadcasts from around the world.

The update also makes replays instantly available, so Periscope users won't need to wait for a replay to upload after broadcasting. Still, you can continue to delete a replay from the “Home” feed.

Last but not least, developers introduced a new feature that will allow Periscope users to share the link to a broadcast they are watching on Twitter.

You can now download Periscope for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 7.1 or later.
