Who isn't amused of people falling? Well, almost no one. This particular fact lead to a new way of making people pay more attention to the way they use escalators, by combining real CCTV footage of people stumbling on the stairs with awareness messages.
Network Rail posted a video on YouTube in an attempt to avoid people getting injured while slipping and tripping in the stations. Just this year, there were more than 1,600 accidents and one fatality due to lack of attention, so the video comes as a hilarious reminder to watch your step.
From a wide range of stumblers, the company selected the top 3 trip-ups on the escalators from the railway stations to prove a point. It is quite hilarious and, hopefully, it will stick to people's minds and make them pay more attention.
They focus on those carrying extra large or heavy baggage on the stairs instead of using the elevator, on those who are in a hurry and stumble while running on the stairs or on the ladies who don't pay attention to their walking while on heels, and end up facing the floor.
