Treyarch boss Mark Lamia talked about his studio's latest game, Call of Duty: Black Ops, during the Spike TV Video Game Awards, and revealed that, judging by the reaction so far, gamers were extremely happy with the game, despite many glitches and lag problems.

Lamia has unveiled to Joystiq that, as of right now, the studio is getting a huge amount of feedback from gamers, and most of it is praise for managing to craft such a great single and multiplayer experience.

"The response that I've gotten is that people are happy with the game," the Treyarch boss stated.

This doesn't mean the studio is going to slow down, as Lamia promises that his team will be focused on further polishing the experience and making it the best first-person shooter out there.

"Right now we are just focused on the PC and console SKUs that were just launched. There's millions of people playing every day, and we're focused on supporting that. So everyone who bought and is investing their time in Black Ops, they can expect that that's just how we work."

The Treyarch boss also chimed in on the competition between Activision studios, specifically between Treyarch and the founders of the Call of Duty series, Infinity Ward.

Lamia revealed that it was never about one-upping the competition, but about making the best experience the studio could make, and that Treyarch was still "a Call of Duty studio as far as anyone is concerned."

"We've just got to stay focused on what we want, what we're making and our own creative, and that's really the best way to do your best work."

These are some pretty big words, especially in terms of the customer satisfaction, as many of our readers continue to leave comments about the terrible online issues and about glitches in the single-player mode.
