After confirming the mass production of the Pentium D processors, made on the 65 nm (nanometer) technology, the new state of the art processors are expected to be available on store shelves. The new Pentium 900 CPUs (Central Processing Unit), code named Presler, are produced from some time in Intel's D1D fab in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Intel is claiming that the upcoming 65 nm chip generation reached it maturity, being ready to go on the market. While Intel's business model is to simply build more chips at a higher profitability each quarter, the company is also spending big time and money for developing new CPU manufacturing techniques.

The rumored launch date for Intel's new processors is on the 27th of December, but several websites updated their listing in order to prepare the Pentium D 900 CPUs launch. Websites like PCMall and OnSale.com already have for ordering the five planned Presler processors.

The prices for the new 65 nm processors start from 270 USD for the Pentium D 920 and range at about 660 USD for the Pentium D 950. The top of the line is the Pentium Extreme Edition 955, priced at about 1100 USD. But, according to different web sources, Intel will sell the 950 model of 3.4 GHz for 637 USD, while the 940 3.2 GHz model will be sold at 423 USD, the 930 3 GHz for 316 USD and the 920 2.8 GHz for 241 USD. The top of the line product, though, is said to go under the 1100 USD price, as now available, down to 999 USD.

Although the mentioned processors are not in stock, though listed, they are expected to be available soon, because as sales representative of websites listing the new Intel processors claim, they typically put a product online, but it will be shipped in 7 to 10 days. That means that it will be practically available after the 27th of December, as the rumored launch date. Though, the preorder term, as it should be called naturally, is not mentioned.
