Dell is widely expected to unveil an 8-inch Windows 8 Venue tablet at the event scheduled for October 2 in New York. Now Taiwanese sources familiar with the matter and cited by DigiTimes have added another piece of information.

According to them, Dell’s new slate will be manufactured by Pegatron Technology. The new 8-inch slate will be aimed towards enterprise customers in particular.

Some market watchers have claimed that 8-inch tablets have failed to spark the interest of the general population, even if at first they were given a chance of succeeding. Instead, they prove to be more attractive for professionals and enterprise users, who prefer larger screens.

A lot of companies have put out 8-inch tablets, like Acer’s Iconia W3, Toshiba’s Encore and Asus’s Computer MeMO Pad 8.

Dell is expected to launch not just one tablet during the October event, but two 10.8-inch ones. Dell CEO himself stated in an interview that a new wave of tablets would come in the upcoming weeks.
