Peaches Geldof's funeral took place on Easter Monday and was attended by many close friends of the family, as well as a handful of celebrities. The grieving family were also there but chose to offer an unusual homage to their departed member, in the form of a family portrait painted directly on her coffin.

The entire coffin was decorated in a sky blue pattern, complete with white fluffy clouds and pink roses. In one corner, some ripe peaches could be seen, as the end of the coffin was adorned with a drawing of the family. Peaches herself can be seen among her two young children and their two dogs, as her husband has them all in his arms.

The coffin was spotted by the Mirror in a hearse as it arrived at the Davington Priory estate just before 1pm on Monday. The hand-painted portrait, which showed some cartoon-style drawings of the family, depicts Peaches smiling as she has her arms around her sons Astala, 2, and Phaedra, 11.

As the hearse pulled in, a crowd gathered along the street leading up to the church to see the coffin. Among the celebrities present at the event were Kate Moss and husband Jamie Hince, as well as former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman.

From Peaches' close friends, BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw could be seen in the crowds, journalist Mariella Frostrup, Jools Holland and Jo Wood. They mingled through the people that left cards and bouquets just outside the entrance and along the driveway.

The Geldof family announced that the service would be held in private, as they were still trying to come to terms with the sudden death of the young Peaches. At the moment, there are still many theories regarding her death, but no final cause has been yet reached since she was found dead in her home on April 7.

It was speculated that friends and family had been worried about her health ever since she began a very drastic cure to lose weight. She is reported to have lost tens of pounds by eating only fruit and vegetable smoothies and basically starving herself the rest of the time.

Other rumors linked her death with the Church of Scientology, of which she was a member for a while, some years ago, before turning to a darker religion known only as OTO, which is believed to deal mostly with black magic.
