The PlayStation Portable Go is coming out in Japan on October 31, this Sunday. Kojima Productions will join the event and will release the demo for their latest game, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, whose playable teaser will be launched along with the new console and will be listed on the Play Station Network. The demo won't bring an entirely new look on the game, but it will still feature some new things.

Based on the demo that was showcased at the Tokyo Game Show and which is currently available for download on the Internet, Peace Walker's demo will still contain some new content. Compared to the TGS version, it will feature new control settings, a new map and several new cutscenes along with some other "enhancements." Even if you don't plan to get yourself a PSP go, fans of the game should definitely be on the lookout for when it becomes available. The only drawback to it is that it's going to be enjoyed by a relatively small number of gamers, since the demo is in Japanese.

The upcoming title currently developed by Kojima Productions is the first one to come out on the handheld platforms as a Hideo Kojima directed game. The action will take place after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. In MGS: Peace Walker, an unknown military force equipped with the latest weapons has turned the country of Costa Rica into a foothold for their operations. Deprived of a military force by its own constitution, the country finds itself in need of Naked Snake and his mercenary unit to help restore order.

Hideo Kojima stood out as a game director who wanted to push Japan's gaming industry further and to do that he harshly criticized it. "I was raised on Japanese games, and we made Metal Gear Solid 4 because we wanted to make the Japanese game industry a better thing," he stated in gaming magazine Famitsu last year. "I wanted the rest of the industry to pick up the torch afterward, but I'm really not seeing anyone do so." Until he does find someone, we suppose his only choice is to carry on and assume the responsibility to lead Japan's gaming industry to a brighter future.
