Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that on June 8, when Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is launched in North America, players will also be able to pick up a bundle called the PSP Entertainment Pack, which will include a handheld device alongside the game. The bundle is set to retail for the cost of 199 dollars.

Players who buy the newly announced package will get: a PlayStation Portable 3000 handheld, painted in the new so-called spirited green color; a Memory Stick Pro Duo with 2 GB of capacity; a copy of the videogame and a voucher that can be redeemed on the PlayStation Network to get a free movie (Sony has not announced the list of content that buyers can choose from).

The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker game that players will receive is also packed with goodies: a new camouflage suit that has FOX logos integrated in its pattern and the chance to get Stealth Gun earlier than others.

It's interesting to note that Sony is now launching the same package with a PlayStation Portable Go console and with a voucher for a PSN download replacing the physical copy of the game.

The Go, which was launched without a UMD drive and with a non-removable battery to deter piracy, has seen very low sales in the United States, and Sony could boost its fortunes by packaging it with such a high profile title like Peace Walker. The move might lend some credence to the rumors that the company is getting ready to announced a PSP 2 and abandon the Go version.

Peace Walker, about which series creator Hideo Kojima said it could be called Metal Gear Solid 5, is set in Costa Rica, invaded by a mercenary force in 1974, at the height of the Cold War. Militaires Sans Frontières and Naked Snake react to the threat and players will be able to guide the character as he takes out enemy after enemy. The game should emphasize cooperative play.
