14 DAY TRIAL // The good folks at OVERKILL have just announced the newest update for their smash hit Payday 2 is now live on Steam. PC gamers can now download the so-called Update 51, which brings some free content and possibly bug fixes and improvements.
This is the second update for Payday 2 released this year by OVERKILL, as the first one was launched immediately after the New Year's Eve.
Just like Update 50 brought in some free stuff like a new Champ mask, the second update delivered this year by Payday 2 developer adds new free content for the community. In particular, this update adds a new melee weapon, the OVERKILL Boxing Gloves.
“Yesterday we gave you the Champ mask – a look at Dallas after a suffering a severe bout of face-based ultraviolence. Well, today it is time to turn the tables. We’re giving you the means to fight back with a free melee weapon – the OVERKILL Boxing Gloves. Slip these beauties on and unleash 1000 pounds of peak punching power!” explained developer OVERKILL.

But that is not all. According to OVERKILL, Update 51 also brings a new “Knockout” achievement. Payday 2 players can achieve this by knocking out a Bulldozer using the OVERKILL boxing gloves.
Keep in mind that Update 51 is available for free to all Payday 2 owners, so you won't have to pay anything to get the new content.
It's also worth mentioning that, besides the free melee weapon and the new achievement, the latest update should add some under-the-hood changes as well. However, OVERKILL promised that a full changelog for the update would be released next week, so stay tuned for more on this one.
