Here's what you can do until a permanent anti-cheating system is put in place

Payday 2 was just recently released, but its growing popularity has already attracted the attention of hackers and glitchers. Security experts have come across a number of Payday 2 hacks and cheats.

According to ThreatTrack Security’s Chris Boyd, cheating scripts are currently advertised on YouTube and various forums.

Most of them are designed to get players large amounts of in-game money. Bank vaults opened instantly, money bags dropping from police units spawned from civilians, and the same bag of money loaded into a van over and over – these are just some of the cheats observed by Payday 2 gamers.

Since Payday 2 doesn’t use the VAC anti-cheating system like many other Steam games do, the cheaters can do whatever they want.

Boyd recommends gamers to avoid lobbies that host sessions in which odd things happen, and stick to playing with their friends until a permanent measure is implemented.

“When hacks like the above surface in online games there tends to be a bit of a mad dash as everyone runs in to try them out, and this is one crossfire you definitely don’t want to get caught up in,” the expert noted.
