Game developer Broken Rules has been trying to raise money on Indiegogo to fund a new game called Secrets of Raetikon. However, a hacker has hijacked the PayPal account in which the money was held.

According to Joystiq, the hacker spent $2,500 (€1,850) from the account to order three PlayStation 4 consoles.

Broken Rules quickly contacted PayPal. Fortunately, the payment processor promised to return all the stolen money.

Martin Pichlmair, the co-founder of the studio, has told Joystiq that he has regained full control of the account, but it’s unlikely that the attacker will be tracked down since all they have is his “dodgy Gmail address.” Pichlmair believes the hacker somehow managed to crack the account's password.

There are 65 hours left to contribute to the Secrets of Raetikon project on Indiegogo. So far, it has only raised $11,000 (€8,100) of the $40,000 (€30,000) it’s hoping to get.
