More sad news for the Walker family, as Cheryl Walker, the dead actor's mother and Paul Walker III, his father, have just filed for divorce after being married for over three decades. The family went through the tragic experience of losing Paul Walker in a car accident last year in November.

TMZ has obtained the legal documents which, it claims, were filed by Cheryl and in which she complains that she and Paul III have actually been separated for the past 12 years, making the divorce a formality in their case.

Although the couple had no longer been living together for years and led separate lives, insiders from the family confirmed that the split was amicable and that it wasn't in any way connected with Paul's demise from last year.

Cheryl is asking for spousal support in the divorce and she's also offering a list of joint assets, which comprises a gun collection and a house.

The family has been in the attention of the press ever since Walker died unexpectedly in a car crash with his friend and business partner Roger Rodas, first because of the death and then because of the will Walker left behind.

In it, he left all his money to his daughter Meadow, bus since she's a minor, Paul listed his mother as executor of the will. A bitter fight ensued between Cheryl, Meadow's grandmother and her mother, Rebecca Soteros, in which they both tried to get legal guardianship of the daughter.

It was speculated that Rebecca, who lived out in Hawaii, had serious alcohol dependency issues and this left her unable to manage the estate, as well as her daughter's future. This is why Cheryl went in court demanding custody of Meadow.

Eventually, the claim was dropped and Meadow remained with her mother. Rebecca was rumored to have entered a rehab facility to deal with her alleged alcoholism. She has managed to stay out of the news, which is more than we can say for Cheryl, whose divorce is now making headlines.

Upon his death, Walker left behind a multi-million dollar estate, as well as an unfinished movie. “Fast & Furious 7.” His two younger brothers, Caleb and Cody stepped in to take his place on the movie set. Through a use of CGI and normal shooting methods, the producers hope to be able to use Caleb and Cody to create their brother's image on screen.

Initially, it was rumored that Walker's character in the movie was going to be killed off, but it was later decided that they were going to retire him, which is why they opted to use his two brothers as replacements.
