Both Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman have noticeable slip-ups in the clip

A bit late for Valentine's Day comes the official video for Paul McCartney's “My Valentine,” starring two of the biggest stars of the moment, Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp.

In between takes of Natalie singing the words to the song and Johnny playing the melody on his guitar, are shots of both using sign language to tell a story – the story of the song.

The only problem is, as the British Deaf Association points out to MTV, that something definitely got lost in the “translation,” since Depp signs “enemy” instead of “valentine,” and Natalie mistakes the sign for “tampon” for the word “appear.”

It would have been nice if actual deaf people had been used in the making of the video, but it's still beautiful, albeit a bit flawed, the Association adds.

“It's great that famous people such as Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman are highlighting the use of sign language,” says a rep.
