The holiday season is almost here and some of you have probably been looking for ways to improve your computer's performance, by upgrading to some of the latest hardware solutions on the market. One way to do that is to equip your PC with one of the latest solid state drives, available on the market. On that note, Patriot Memory has just announced the debut of its new PS-100 Series of SSDs. Designed as affordable alternatives to other SSDs, the new drives will be available in range of capacities, featuring a 2.5-inch form factor.

“Our PS-100 is a great option for consumers that want all the reliability and performance of an SSD, but are looking for aggressive pricing,” says Eric Ackerson, Patriot's Director of Marketing. “We are excited about getting this product into the market just in time for the holiday season, and with capacities from 32GB to 256GB, the PS-100 family brings improved system performance and longevity with a broad range of capacities and price points.”

According to the company, its new SSD series has been designed to deliver performance by incorporating 64MB of cache that enables these drives to deliver sequential read and write speed of up to 210MB/s and 150MB/s, respectively. In addition, the new SSDs are featured with a 2.5-inch design, making them eligible for use in portable computer systems. Featuring a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, the drives are specified at an MTBF of 2.5 million hours and a power consumption of 5.3W during operation (only 0.5W in standby).

Users will be able to select the company's new PS-100 series in a range of capacities, including 32, 64, 128 and 256GB, providing a choice for both performance and large capacity storage. Price wise, these solution are currently listed at price points of 105, 240, 364 and 749 Euro, respectively.
