In an attempt to further expand its SSD lineup, Patriot Memory has just announced the launch of its new Torqx M28 series of flash-based solid state drives, coming to provide users with capacities of 128GB and 256GB. According to the Fremont, California-based company, the new SSDs have been designed with increased cache and will be delivered with an industry leading warranty, confirming the company's commitment to provide its users with high-quality products. The new Torqx M28-series will be available with a 10-year warranty, which will be included on all of the company's Torqx SSD products.

“The Torqx series SSDs takes the technology of SSD to the next level,” says Meng J Choo, Patriot's flash product manager. “Competitor non-cache drives suffered from what consumers described as 'stuttering affect' which inhibited the drive performance. Torqx Series addresses this issue with a DRAM cache that acts as a buffer for data transfer bottlenecks and increases the random and sequential read and write transfer rates.”

According to Patriot, its new SSDs have been designed with increased DRAM cache from 64MB on the previous generation of SSDs to 128MB of cache, coming to support the most recent NAND flash technology. This design feature will enable the company's new solutions to deliver increased performance with higher transfer rates between the controller and the host device. Patriot Memory said that the new Torqx SSDs would provide users with increased stability, faster access times and lower power consumption.

As you can expect, these new drives boast a 2.5-inch form factor, which makes them an excellent choice for ultraportable computer systems with increased performance.

Although the company hasn't delivered any details regarding the pricing of its new SSDs, users should expect the Torqx M28 to become available in capacities of 128GB and 256GB, backed by an impressive 10-year warranty.
