There has been lots of talk about energy efficiency and the strides made in prolonging battery life of all portable consumer electronics, but the danger of battery failure is ever present.

That is why Patriot has released the Fuel+ Mobile battery range of portable power packs. Essentially, they are portable batteries that recharge smartphones and tablets.

There are several sizes, and the Patriot Fuel+ also come with varying connectors.

There's one with a Lightning port, for Apple iPhone and iPad, and Pod Touch for that matter, and even iPod nano (Fuel+ 1500 mAh).

Then there are Fuel+ 2200 mAh and 3000 mAh batteries, for gadgets without Lightning.

Larger batteries of 5200, 6000, 7800, and 9000 mAh have been launched too, with two USB ports each. One port even has 2.5 A power (good for demanding tablets).

Sales will start mid-June 2013. Prices are unknown.
