Introducing bikes

Bikes are coming to Paradise City as part of a new update to Criterion's Burnout Paradise. The developers are keen on keeping the game interesting for players and they are continuing their record of very good support by releasing this patch for the title.

The upcoming patch will introduce two motorcycles that can be used for riding around the city. The game will also get day and night cycles, changing weather patters and 70 new and interesting Freeburn challenges.

Criterion is not giving up on the game after the release of this patch. The following update, which is set for later in the fall, will add a new island to the game and there's even talk of adding trucks and planes to Burnout Paradise.

The bikes are adding a whole new dimension to the game mostly because they tend to handle in a very different way from the cars. Their top and standard speeds are higher than that of most of the cars, so there's no option to boost the vehicles. The fragility factor is way higher and turning to sharply can cause a crash. The cool factor is also bigger for bikes with developers including the ability to pull tricks like standard wheelies and back wheel donuts that can be performed by pulling diagonally back on the analogue stick while accelerating. You can choose both female and male avatars for bike riding and Criterion says that other tricks are there to be found by interested players.

Another cool addition will be the introduction of night and day cycles. The traffic at night will be more sparse and you will only be able to enter certain races.

The new update, now called the Bikes Pack and formerly known as Davis, is set to arrive during next week and will be available on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
