Here's something for all Brian de Palma fans: after almost a decade of uneven releases (“Redacted,” “The Black Dahlia”), the famed director is springing back to form with a new thriller. Above is the first trailer.

Called “Passion,” it's a remake of Alain Corneau's “Crime d'amour,” which tells the story of a shrewd and manipulative corporate executive who takes pleasure in toying with her innocent, naïve protégée / assistant.

Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace star as leads, with Rachel seemingly having a lot of fun in the bad girl role for a change, which totally goes against the image she cultivated in most of her roles.

“Passion” will open at TIFF 2012 and the Venice Film Festival.
