Tortured dogs like Puppy Doe and the more-or-less happy story of their rescue are the ones that usually make headlines. Still, the fact remains that pooches and cats aren't the only animals that are abused by their owners and that need help.

The parrot pictured above is called Lollibaby. It was rescued from a meth lab in Morgan County, Tennessee about a month ago, and is now looked after by staff at the One Stop Pet Shop in Rockwood, Daily Mail tells us.

Vets who had the chance to examine the bird say that it lost its feathers after spending a tad too much time breathing in toxic chemicals that are released whenever people start cooking methamphetamine.

“We're trying to get her back to health. It's going to be six to eight months, and it may take longer than that because we're just not sure,” rescuer Joseph Clapp reportedly told the press.

By the looks of it, children and pets are especially vulnerable to the toxic chemicals found inside meth labs. This is because they have a low body weight, and the chemicals do not take long to build up inside their bodies.
