14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since the sudden death of singer Michael Jackson, his three children have spent their days relatively shielded from the media attention, mostly thanks to the efforts put in by their grandmother, Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson. Just recently, though, paparazzi spotted Paris Jackson, the singer’s 11-year-old daughter, as she went out and got a haircut – and then asked to have her hair promptly handed to her, as the Daily Mail says.
Apparently, Paris has been trained well to deal with all the risks that being the child of such a huge star as Michael was entails, including how to never leave tracks behind that some might use against her. According to the British publication, after the girl had her hair cut, she asked to have it all bagged, sealed and then handed to her minders to avoid leeches from stealing it and having it DNA-tested. As fans must know, whether Paris and her two brothers are truly Michael’s children remains one of the many unanswered questions.
“It’s not uncommon for parents to mark their child’s first haircut by keeping a lock in memory of the occasion. But when Paris Jackson, 11, finally went for the chop, every strand was swept up, placed into plastic bags and handed to her minder. It is thought the bizarre move was planned as a precaution against potential hair thieves, who could use the sample to carry out DNA tests. The results would put an end to rife speculation as to the true identity of Paris’ real father.” the Daily Mail writes.
Paris was accompanied on her trip by her grandmother and a handful of bodyguards, so they all could make sure not even a single hair remained once they asked the salon staff to remove it. TV reporter Alicia Jacobs was present when the strange occurrence took place and she tells the Mail Paris’ bodyguards personally oversaw that all hair was removed. Jacobs is also convinced the reason behind the request was making sure no one profited off the girl, or exposed her to even more media attention than she was already getting.
Just recently, one of Michael’s longtime friends shocked the public by going to the tabloids and saying that Paris, the King of Pop’s one and only daughter, might actually be his, since he “donated” once “as a gift” to Michael. Nothing has come of his claim so far – and probably never will.
