14 DAY TRIAL // If we’re to believe reports online, there is no love lost between Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, mostly because the latter believes the former “owes” her everything she has in life, because she helped her launch herself.
In the days when Kim wasn’t the world’s most successful reality star and a shrewd businesswoman, she was Paris’ hanger-on / personal assistant and occasional closet organizer, later promoted to the rank of BFF. Paris will not let you forget about that.
Paris Hilton is done criticizing Kim
A few years back, whenever someone asked her about Kim, Paris would roll her eyes and make some sassy comment - like the time she compared Kim’s famous derriere to a trash bag filled with cheese. She would also make it clear that they were no longer in communication and that she didn’t give a damn about the money she made because she, Paris, would always be “the original.”
Well, at least that final part is still true. Paris sat down with Yahoo! for an interview to promote the launch of her latest perfume, and she insists she was the trendsetter when it comes to making a career in reality television.
For those of you who don’t remember, in 2003, Paris and good friend Nicole Richie, starred in “The Simple Life,” which coincided with Paris’ glory days and ran through 2007.
So yes, Paris did pave the way for Kim Kardashian. If anything, Kim copied her, she hints.
"We’ve known each other since we were little girls, we’ve always been friends,” she says when asked if they’re still feuding. “It’s nice to inspire people. I am really proud of her and what she’s done. I saw her a few weeks ago in New York.”
Paris adds that she also loves Kanye West and thinks that his daughter with Kim is the most fashionable celebrity kid out there - that is, until her own daughter/ son, London, is born.
Hilarious but true
Chances are Kim and Paris still hate each other with a passion as if it’s 2009 all over again, but that’s not to say that the hotel heiress doesn’t have a point: without her and her reality show, the world would be Kardashian-free. We would also not have the countless, allegedly very entertaining reality shows that are all about girl drama and drunken parties.
Whether that’s something for Paris to be proud of is for the public to decide, but Kim would be no one without her former BFF.
Kim didn’t steal from her just a business idea, that of making a brand by selling her personal life as if it was an entertainment product, she also stole her idea of getting more publicity. Both Paris and Kim have “leaked” private home movies with their respective partners, and both can attribute their later success to said “leaks.”
Paris might be mean when she points out that Kim would have been nothing without her, but she’s right about it.
