The parents of a 23-year-old student from China studying at Boston University have confirmed that their daughter is the third victim of the Boston Marathon blasts.
"This is an extremely painful time for our family," her father tells ABC News in a statement given by phone. The girl's parents are residents of Northeast China.
They have asked to keep the victim's name out of the papers until the entire family is notified of her passing. The girl's grandparents have not yet been informed of the student's death, and are still waiting to hear news from her.
"Every time we speak about this, it is like a dagger in our hearts," the grieving father describes.
As I mentioned in earlier reports, the other two casualties have been identified as 29-year-old Krystle Campbell and 8-year-old Martin Richard.
