Her publicist says she left by choice

After many months of exchanging words in the media, followed by countless assurances from Michael Bay himself that, regardless all said and done, Megan Fox will remain a part of the “Transformers” franchise, Paramount has just dropped a bomb on fans. The actress, on board the franchise for the first two films, will not be appearing in the threequel, the movie studio confirms for E! News.

This comes shortly on the heels of director Bay saying that, despite the fact that Megan went to the media to compare him to “Hitler” and to say that “Transformers” did not allow her the proper chance to act as she would have wanted, she would remain attached to the cast. Paramount is now saying that this will not happen, for Fox has been let out of her contract for reasons yet not made public to the press.

“The third time is not going to be the charm for Megan Fox. Paramount Pictures confirmed Wednesday that production on Transformers 3 is moving forward without the franchise’s resident hottie, E! News has confirmed. So why did Michael Bay say she’d totally be back for the threequel? What a Decepticon! Sure, Fox said all sorts of ridiculous things and chomped into the hand that fed her with the lethal teeth she sported in Jennifer’s Body, but Bay acknowledged that her ‘crazy quips are part of her crazy charm’ and said he still loved working with her,” E! writes of the (rather messy) situation.

“But in the end, Paramount left her contract by the wayside, and according to Fox’s rep, it was her idea. ‘It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best,’ the rep tells People. The 24-year-old actress whom men’s magazines love to obsess over played Shia LaBeouf's inexplicable love interest (he’s cute, but he’s no Megan Fox!) in the first two films. There’s been no word yet on who’s up for the requisite role of Woman Who Looks Great Running, but the cast is filling out pretty nicely just the same, counting LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand and John Malkovich among those onboard,” the e-zine further says.

Come to think of it, rumors of Bay considering killing off Fox’s character in the third film first started to circulate back in October last year, meaning shortly after she bad-mouthed him and his films, which prompted a very angry open letter from the “Transformers” staff in which she was labeled a talentless diva whose acting skills were comparable to that of a dumb rock.
