The development team might introduce a new Victoria title

The team at Paradox Development Studio is at the moment focusing most of its resources on the creation of Hearts of Iron IV, which has now been delayed for a while, but it seems that they are not running out of ideas when it comes to grand strategy and are also spending time with two new titles that have not been officially revealed.

Henrik Fahraeus, the lead designer of Crusader Kings II and game director at the studio, tells Bibicon that “We have another game in production and yet another one in pre-production.”

He did not offer any other details on the two titles and it’s unclear whether they are both sequels for already established franchises or entirely new experiences.

Given that Europa Universalis IV is still getting expansions, with El Dorado set to be launched soon, and that there are rumors of extra DLC, if of a smaller scope, for Crusader Kings II, it’s entirely possible that Paradox Development Studio is aiming to deliver a new version of Victoria.

The series is arguably its most complex one when it comes to social and political elements, and it tracks the evolution of the world from the XIX century to World War I and beyond, with a focus on colonial matters and spheres of influence.

Some diehard fans will also ask for a sequel to Rome, but the company has suggested that it is not exploring this possibility at the moment.

One of the titles is probably based on an entirely new idea.

Hearts of Iron IV is the first Clausewitz title to launch in 2015

The first grand strategy game using an improved version of the engine set to arrive is focused on World War II and allows players to control any nation in the world through the conflict.

The game footage shown so far has revealed an improved user interface and beautiful graphics and world building.

Paradox also says that it is trying to focus more on the strategic level of the war and wants gamers to make decisions which clearly influence its course, regardless of the side they are on.

Systems ranging from internal politics to air and naval combat are getting serious overhauls.

Hearts of Iron IV is expected to arrive on the PC during the second quarter of the year.
