As expected, Pantech officially introduced the Vega Iron in South Korea. The smartphone leaked a few days ago and was said to feature the slimmest bezel ever embedded onto an Android phone.

According to the official announcement, Pantech Vega Iron features 2.4mm bezels on each side, while the horizontal bezels from above and below the screen are a bit thicker.

The smartphone is made entirely from metal and has been confirmed to be launched in South Korea on KG U+, SK Telecom and KT carriers.

There are no details on when exactly it will hit shelves or whether it will be released outside Korea or not, but that might depend on the hype that will build around the Vega Iron by the time it goes on sale.

Another selling point of the smartphone is the stunning 5-inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Moreover, Pantech Vega Iron is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, similar to HTC One’s CPU.

In addition, it comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to no less than 2TB via microSD memory card.

On the back side of the phone, Pantech embedded an impressive 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary photo snapper for video calls.

When it comes to connectivity, the Vega Iron is an all-rounder. It offers LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support, along with GPS with A-GPS. The phone is powered by a 2,600 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Software-wise, Pantech Vega Iron will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but it has already been confirmed for an Android 4.2. upgrade later on.
