It looks like Pantech’s Vega Racer 2 will be the world’s first mobile phone to feature a ceramic body. If rumors on Galaxy S III’s similar design are accurate, Samsung’s Android flagship smartphone will be the second to arrive on the market.
Pantech claims that its Vega Racer 2 will hit shelves in South Korea in late April, for a price that will be disclosed closer to launch.
The device boasts an impressive 4.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 (Krait) clocked at 1.5 GHz.
In addition, the Vega Racer 2 will come with support for LTE network and will probably run Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, though this has yet to be confirmed by Pantech.
There’s a slight chance that the device will make its debut in the United States as well, but no details are available for the moment.
