Pantech Wireless, the North American subsidiary of the South-Korean giant Pantech-Curitel, is about to debut a new Android smartphone in the United States.

Although the company has yet to officially confirm the upcoming availability of a certain Pantech P8010 device, the folks at Androinica have just spotted the smartphone’s benchmark score.

According to its NenaMark2 results, Pantech P8010 will be exclusively launched via AT&T, which doesn’t come as a surprise. Pantech and AT&T have a long-time partnership in order to bring the latest product launched by the former in the United States.

Pantech Element tablet and Pantech Burst smartphone are among the latest additions to AT&T’s portfolios.

Both seemed to be mildly popular among Android fans, which is why Pantech decided to upgrade its lineup of Android device with two new smartphones.

We already reported on the Pantech IM-A830S last week, which is expected to arrive in South Korea via SK Telecom. The smartphone is said to feature a capacitive touchscreen display of unknown size that supports HD (720 x 1196 pixels) resolution.

In addition, Pantech IM-A830S will be equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.

It appears that the new Pantech handset spotted at NenaMark2 is en-route to AT&T. The so-called Pantech P8010 has similar features as the IM-A830S that will make its debut in South Korea.

The only difference between the two smartphones seems to be the slightly smaller capacitive touchscreen display of the Pantech P8010, which is said to support only qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

Other than that, the P8010 features a similar 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and an Adreno 225 GPU. Obviously, the smartphone will be shipped with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.
