Pantech Breeze is the latest-launched mobile phone to come from AT&T, bringing a fresh breeze of not so fresh basic features. The handset is presented by AT&T as a "breakthrough in intuitive cell phone design". But we fail to see the breakthrough aspect, since phones like this are pretty common, especially in South Korea and Japan, where most of Pantech Curitel's handsets are commercialized.

Anyway, although the new Breeze has a pretty nice overall look, it is apparently targeted for users who are no longer young, hence it comes with: a simple user interface, an internal color display said to be "extra large" (although it has only about 2 inches), an external display for quickly viewing info like unread messages in incoming calls, hearing aid compatibility, plus "EZ One-Touch" keys that should help you make calls fast and easy.

Other features that Pantech Breeze offers include quad-band GSM connectivity with EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, a VGA photo camera, email, Instant Messaging, Web surfing capabilities, embedded games and a battery capable of providing up to three hours of talk-time and up to 10 days of stand-by time. The handset weighs 3.4 ounces (96 grams) and, when closed, it measures 4.0 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches (102 x 51 x 18 millimeters).

Those who feel they might need the Pantech Breeze can find it via AT&T's stores across the US or on the carrier's website (at this address). The phone costs only $49.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate and the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the largest North American mobile carrier.

The new Breeze clamshell is the third Pantech phone from AT&T's offer, besides yet another affordable device (the C150 candybar) and the more advanced Pantech Duo (which is also more expensive).
