Shortly after announcing its entrance on the European smartphone market with the Panasonic ELUGA Android phone, the Japanese company hints to new releases at the Mobile World Congress 2012 exhibition.

According to Pocket-lint, citing sources close to the matter, Panasonic plans to announce another Android phone, but this time it will be a premium device.

The phone will apparently feature a bigger screen than ELUGA, which sports a 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display. However, this will not be an OLED display, instead Panasonic will embed its own designed mobile display technology.

There are no details on the insides of the phone, but rumor has it that the premium phone will be powered by a dual-core processor.

Obviously, the smartphone will run Google's Android operating system, though there are no mentions of whether or not this will be delivered with Ice Cream Sandwich, instead of the rather old Gingerbread platform.

Furthermore, the mysterious Panasonic smartphone will pack an impressive rear camera of some sort which will use the company's Lumix technology, but there aren't any details on this for the moment.

However, this won't be the only Android device announced by Panasonic at the Mobile World Congress 2012. The folks at Pocket-lint were told by a source within Panasonic, that the Japanese company plans to unveil a more consumer-oriented tablet.

The upcoming slate will be pretty much different than the company's Toughpad Android tablet, which was already launched on the market. Hopefully, this one will come with Google's latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Unfortunately, there are no other details regarding Panasonic's Android roadmap for MWC 2012 trade fair, but more information will probably emerge closer to official announcement.

Until then, head over to our special Panasonic ELUGA gallery for more pictures with the smartphone that will rock Europe starting April 2012.
