Remember that two years ago Panasonic showcased the world’s first 4K tablet at CES? We’re now preparing for CES 2014 and the Japanese tech giant has yet to launch the tablet on the market.

However, the most recent rumors (via PhoneArena) claim that Panasonic was forced to delay the official release until mid-February 2014, but we still can't be sure when we're going to see the slate arrive in retail locations.

The ToughPad 4K is a massive tablet device of sorts sporting 20-inch screen (230 ppi) that is aimed at creative professionals like architects and designers. The device draws power from an Ivy Bridge Intel Core i5 processor backed up by 8GB of RAM and 256SSD storage.

Panasonic has also slipped in NVIDIA GeForce GT745M dedicated GPU so the most demanding software can run smoothly on the tablet, which runs on Windows 8.1 Pro.

The ToughPad packs a magnesium alloy chassis and is reportedly capable of withstanding drops from up to 2.5ft / 0.7 m.

When it finally arrives on the market, the Panasonic slate won’t come cheap, as it will sport a price tag of $4,400 / €3,227.
